As we go about displaying acts of love towards those who are dear to us during
Valentine's season, lets spend some time reflecting on the Love of Christ and how his love for us is so awesome that we struggle to find words adequate to describe his love for us. For example, In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul prayed in ch.3:17-19, "that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints, what is the breath, length, and depth, and height, and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God." I believe that when we have a better understanding of the degree to which God loves us, we will likewise have a greater appreciation for Jesus Christ and the work that he did on the Cross. You see, Paul's prayer was more about changing people's focus from themselves to God so that they would get to a place where they too would proclaim what David proclaimed in the 63rd Psalm when he said "Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee, thus will I bless thee while I live, I will lift up my hands in thy name..." If you desire to learn more about the awesome love that Jesus has for you, please join me on this Sunday as I continue to teach about the Love of Christ.
