Dear friends, as we move into the Resurrection season, let us focus our attention on the Love of Christ and what true love looks like. In order to better understand the love of Christ, take a look at Philippians 2:7 and its sequence.
In his letter to the Philippians, Paul describes how deeply and richly Jesus loves us when he writes in Phil 2:7 "But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men". When Paul says Jesus "made ... no reputation", he literally means that Jesus emptied himself for us as one would pour out the contents of a glass of water. That is, Jesus voluntarily gave up the pleasures and comforts of Heaven for the hell on earth in order that you and I might have the opportunity for eternal life with God in Heaven through salvation. Another way to look at it is Jesus took off his Godly robe and put on the rags of man so that he was positioned to take on our sins and accept all our human limitations and weaknesses. Paul described Jesus' sacrifice for us another way in 2 Corinthians 8:9 when he wrote, "though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich."
May the power of God's word richly bless you and I invite you to share with me how God is blessing you and your family in the days to come. As always I personally invite you and yours to fellowship with us at Reborn To Live as we continue to draw closer to GOD by gaining a greater understanding and appreciation for God's awesome powerful word.
