A Fresh Perspective

Today I sat in a chair in my home that I rarely sit in.  My husband sits there on Saturday mornings and reads the paper while enjoying fresh coffee. When my mom visits, she sits there and takes a nap. The few times that I've sat here, I never really took the time to enjoy the view.
As I sat in this chair quietly (no television, radio, or phone) no distractions. I started to look around my home, and from my new vantage point everything took on a new perspective. It's the same house I was in yesterday, but from this vantage point everything looks different.
Sometimes in life we must slow down long enough to consider our situation and the circumstances involved from another vantage point. If we pause long enough and listen for the Holy Spirit, he will always show us a new way, a better way, a different view on all the issues we face daily. The word of God tells us in Isaiah 55:8 "for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your way my ways"
We miss so many things because we are stuck in a routine, and don't take time to look at things through God's eyes.  Some situations are not as bad as we think, we just need to see the situation the way God sees it, and learn the lessons He wants to teach us.  We may be missing out on opportunities, blessings, and contentment by having tunnel vision.
As for me, sitting in this chair without distractions allowed me a moment to reflect and give thanks to GOD for all his wonderful gifts, namely, for my lovely home and peace of mind, God's Holy Spirit, My Husband, and My Children. I also received inspiration, motivation, and vision. ........ and a moment to RELAX !
Whatever your situation is take another look at it through God's eyes.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9
